One of Charles Chaplin's masterpieces, and the human historical discourse in the end is the most wonderful thing in the movie. 9/10

Like all major Chaplin works, Dictator was a cheaply, but methodically, made film, a cardboard act of humanist defiance, and, thanks to its purity of purpose, the cheesier the jokes get, the harder they land.

THE GREATEST COMEDY OF ALL TIME!!

Watched this for a college film class. While it isn’t my usual cup of tea, the comedy was fun and cheeky. Obviously this carries a much darker and thought provoking truth. Definitely a classic.

It was fun! Took me a while to understand both characters were different but it was really nice!

I’m sure for its time, it was stellar but I couldn’t get into it. Had a few chuckles, fell asleep, woke up towards the end with no desire to go back or finish it. Sorry not sorry.

Honestly a great movie, I can see why it's in everybody's top 100

Was good in Cabinet Rooms. I nodded off for parts but I had slept badly. Slapstick was mostly very good. Visual effects were very impressive for the time, upside down gag. OG “it’s-a bigga mistaka”. Italian and German “language” was hilarious with coughs, ü sound. Huge end speech

This film will echo for generations, and will be relevant for as long people will wage war against one another (probably forever).

Arguably one of or if not the best monologues in cinema history. Must be Chaplin’s best.

A movie with great comedy and an even greater message regarding the treatment of your fellow man.
