I really don't get all the fuss about this, below average.
Lol just because it has a great symbolic ending shot doesn't make it great as a whole.
Loved the soundtrack/camera work/ending/drowning pool scenes, and the relatable themes.
But that's pretty much about it, everything-

why the FUCK do people like this? it’s the most boring thing i have ever seen in my entire life. i’d get more enjoyment from watching paint dry.

Every aspect about this film is excellent. The story, the acting, and the cinematography are all superb making for an amazing film overall. There’s a reason why this film is as highly acclaimed as it is. (by the way Benjamin would’ve loved Radiohead) 9/10

Gotta love milfs. This is one of the OG portrayals of losers/simps. Reminds me of Steve Carrell in 40-year-old Virgin.

Very solid movie. Admittedly I watched it for a class so I was looking at it a lot more analytically rather than just enjoying it. But regardless good movie. Need a rewatch though.

A hilarious film with a terrific story.


This film was superb. I did not expect it to be this funny at all. I didn’t even know it was that kind of film. Dustin Hoffman was amazing.


Overall, this film was excellent.

just phenomenal. grabs your attention from the very first scene. i absolutely love Hoffman’s performance on this, he’s sublime. the character of Ben transmits his anguish and sadness right through the screen. it’s a great representation of loneliness and the paths it can take us.

Existential but good

bizarre as hell but very well made. mrs. simon and garfunkel ate down with the soundtrack though i dont think half the songs were actually the best fit for the scenes. shoutout to the remastered version on kanopy 🔥 the remaster makes a very old piece of media much more accessible

I’ve always been curious about this film, but never really had the desire to actually sit down and watch it. I know this is regarded as a cinematic classic, but I just didn’t find it all that entertaining. I can check it off my list, but I won’t ever watch again any time soon.

Brilliant movie with lots of funny parts and a classically strange ending
