wow, was so excited for the release & it definitely delivered. anya & miles were really great together, much more chemistry than i would’ve expected tbh. cinematography is so beautiful, loved the different colors around the gorge, purple was my fav. lovedd the score so much, it felt authentic and mysterious. action scenes were really great, although i had to stop watching when the spiders came out bc i have arachnophobia, but other than that i love how apocalyptic they made the gorge look. my only critic i have to say i wasn’t expecting the monsters to be groot lookin, wish they tried harder in creating them tbh. i really really enjoyed it tho. 9 / 10

The gorge got overshadowed by romance. This movie was weird in the sense they spent more time developing a romance story than actually focusing on the story in my opinion. Felt rushed at the end just to have the romantic ending scene (which was unnecessary)

There's a ravine of sci-fi thrillers that this almost falls into. Movies like, 'Annihilation', 'Ad Astra', or 'Alien' (the bad ones). I say almost because this is more action/romance, Teller and Taylor both have insane charisma and I was so into them being operatives led by Weaver. Unfortunately, the chemistry screams superficial and most of the character/world-building is held back and blown up. I needed less of the extensive enamorment and a reasonable score. The predictable momentum, sfx, jokes, mystery, stunts, and visuals, all make this a fun flick. The gorge-sized plot holes and 'super' sequel seeding make this a drag I'd only really recommend to rom-com fans.

First hr was great, so original. Middle 20-30mins got me nervous that I was going to hate it in the end. The 3rd act brought it back to redemption mode.

10/10. The script is clear, no doubts or questions at the end of the movie, everything is explained, the romance is really good, the action scenes are tense and imersive, it holds you from the beginning to the end, it's not boring. I haven't seen a movie this good in a long time.

There were too many times where we were thinking “ok, that wouldn’t have worked that way”.. so it was difficult to lose yourself in the movie. But the sci fi/thriller side kept it entertaining. I did not enjoy how much it tried to mix in romance. I love a good sappy, romance, but plopping it in this movie didn’t work

queue is fucking my shit up so here’s my review again? wtf
thrilling. eyes locked in from beginning to end. miles’ and anya’s abilities to act with such intense and elegant emotion in the absence of dialogue was stunning. and the script pierced my heart. a poet? pls. i’m wet. their chemistry blew me away. it’s fast paced, until it’s not, but even then, the action sequences never plummet. thought i knew where it might go after the first hour, wrong. then again once they were down there, then again, wrong. it’s gorgeously filmed and produced; the score was intriguing and clearly very calculated which compelled me to listen intently during quieter moments - immersing myself into the film which of course is the goal, but very few get it right like this.
one negative - the hollow men reminded me of a poor take on the fungus from the last of us - it was lacking and i wish we got more info about it; however, they gave us enough & this is categorized as a romance/thriller, i expected the focus to stay on miles and anya and was not disappointed. i’m a slut for a happy ending and this one was satisfying as fuck. i’m gunna go touch myself now 8/10

2/5. Loved the horror action sequences of the movie the whole entire time. The monsters were a little weird though. They just looked like too cgi. They were angry groots. Also really liked the movie right up until Miles fell. The rest was just good not great

I didn't care for the romance at all. I feel like they characters acted way too stupid despite supposedly being some of the best in their field.

Anya and Miles do their best to fend off the unknown, a mysterious supernatural phenomenon happening beneath their vantage point, take a guess as to what happens afterwards.

I would’ve pressed the “Meh” button, but the concept was extraordinary good, so this why I gave it the “Like”. For me, the romance without words was the better half of the movie, the other half, down in the gorge, was like Tom Hiddleston trying to save King Kong in the Kong: Skull Island.
From the trailer, I expected that they have to face something big, enourmous, mutant creature, but instead they have to fight some infected from The Last of Us mixed with Davy Johnes’ crew. And the worst thing about it, that the two protagonists doesn’t care at all what are those creatures down there.
