After seeing "Exorcist: Believer" last year, I was worried this film would follow in its footsteps. Fortunately, it does not. Aside from a few pacing issues, this film is incredibly well acted, filled with terrifying imagery, and blood-soaked in body horror. Great prequel to the classic original. 8/10

I do not get the hype. The start of the movie I loved and felt it was setting up for an exciting movie. After that it went downhill and it was slow and boring and painful to watch. It picks back up towards the end but not enough to save the movie for me.Preferred Immaculate more.

A great movie but a “make-it-make-sense-yourself” prequel that should have just been its own thing that later could have led into an omen remake..

What I mean by that is that for anyone who has seen the original movie they’d know Damiens mother was a jackal and Brennan was present for his birth yada yada which can be explained that Brennan got the gender of the burned jackal confused or that he was trying to cover up for the fact that the mom survived with Clarita and the daughter but thats just kinda meh to have to do that thinking in your head when the established lore could’ve just worked better

It seems like they’re just setting it up to lead into a future sequel involving Clarita and the daughter (sister of Damien) but thats besides the point let me stop rambling

With all that out of the way I really enjoyed this movie — it isn’t a typical in your face with scares horror but neither was the original Omen which heavily leaned on the sadistic and twisted nature of how evil everything around the antichrist is and is why when I see some people leave reviews comparing it to something subpar like Immaculate which consisted of two gore scenes and the typical loud jump scares that have been beaten to death since Insidious I laugh at how ignorant to the movie they were

Its got some great visuals, they used good practical effects for the jackal and all the actors killed it for the most part

Highly recommended if you are a fan of the original Omen but prepare for the retcons/mental gymnastics you’ll have to do at the end for the tie in to make complete sense

A mediocre mix between Immaculate and Rosemary's baby.
Haven't seen the original yet but im guessing it's better as it always is.
I can't really tell what was wrong, the failed storytelling,or the suspense-building, or the limited focus on the psychological horror which could've-

Nope. Never again. Why do I do this to myself? I've seen so many nun-based horrors, so I expected this to be an easy watch. I may have gotten through it, but my hands kept covering my eyes. Most of the horror comes from how grounded the environment is. It wants disbelievers to believe by blending the holy and unholy, the impossible and the possible. The story was a conspiracy, and I, the whole way through, was the theorist. I genuinely believe some of the cast is evil, even Charles Dance. Harsh sound design, repulsive practical effects, creepy imagery. I doubt I can survive watching the 70s original, but this seems like a decent prequel. Hope there's a sequel.

The twin towers Immaculate. While I didn’t expect much from this, it surprised me in the best way possible. Great acting with terrifying scenes and some amazing body horror. The religious films always get me. Watch it in theaters or with all the lights off.

this movie was sick and twisted to the point where it wasn’t enjoyable. people left the theatre and i’m so sad me and my friend didn’t leave. i hated it the rape and child birth scenes are too much there’s no need a mutilated vagina should be on the big screen. awful 0/10

oh my god literally soooo scary🫨🫨🫨 #eeeek i had my eyes closed and ears plugged for like 75% of this #sawitintheatres. main gurls bob was 🔥 and i loved her cross necklace. i almost had a heart attack during this so be warned

DUDE WHAT THE FLIP. this movie is so gross. cant believe i paid to see this. the entire theater audience was so disappointed. cinematography and acting was good but just i would never wish this upon anyone. i literally hated this tbh no hate to actors or crew just bad 2/10.

The tagline isn’t a lie. This movie IS TERRIFYING. Nell Tiger Free is the real deal, her performance is something of a masterclass!!! Director Arkasha Stevenson’s vision is hellish,nasty and beautiful!! GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

6.8 - recognizing how risky it was to revive this very dead franchise, expectations were low. And greatly exceeded. Disorienting & disjointed @ times, but eerie. Has great kills, ties in the OGs well w/out overdoing it, & relies on atmosphere over jumps which works well.

The more I watch scary movies the more I think nuns are just terrible people. Wasn’t bad, not my favorite but had some good parts. Premise and plot was decent and different which was nice. Not super scary but had some good scenes, more creepy and gross.
