Do people really like this movie or do they just think they have to say they like it to be considered true horror movie fans? I don’t get it. It’s terrible. It’s not even one of those “so bad it’s good” movies.

- I love horror and not a lot scares me, but this is genuinely one of the most terrifying films I’ve ever seen
- Ash is fineee so that helped
- Proof you don’t need the special effects we have today to make a scary film
- All the characters are stupid, but that’s to be expected

2/10 gave me the biggest headache ever that bitch making the same screeching laugh noise over and over was so annoying i literally had to skip through the parts where the possessed bitches were screaming cuz it was so irritating 🤣😭

An all-time horror classic, that no matter how many years go by, and how many times it dates worse and worse, it will forever be an absolute masterpiece among the horror genre.

The Evil Dead is quite frankly amazing all round, not for any critical reason, Nonono. It’s amazing because it feels fresh, it feels rewatchable, it’s scary at times, it’s funny at times, it’s especially absurd, but that’s what makes it so good, that’s what makes it Evil Dead.

1st Act 9.2/10 (Memorable, fast paced, iconic, well directed, just very clear on the fact it’s a low budget movie.

2nd Act 9.7/10 (Enthralling, absurd, thrilling, terrifying, just an all around amazing act.)

3rd Act 9.5/10 (Basically Act 2, just gets marked down for the famous PNG Moon, like cmon that’s just lazy man😭.)

Plot 9.3/10 (There’s a reason this is iconic.)

Soundtrack/Score N/A (Thought there was but t clearly not.)

Acting 8.7/10 (Wooden from everyone but ash at times, but the time they were the Evil Dead, they just amped their shit up to 11 which is exactly what I wanted tbh.)

Pacing 9.7/10 (Insanely well paced and directed, whole reason it’s iconic.)

Cinematography 8.6/10 (PNG Moon.)

Character Development 8.8/10 (It’s Aight, the fact I know them all by name is good enough for an 80 minute horror movie.)

Writing 9.3/10 (NECRONOMICONNNNNN.)

Ending 9.2/10 (Gonna rewatch 2 and 3 ASAP.)

Direction 9.6/10 (Fucking Loved Raimi’s direction in this, looks like it’s time for a Raimi Rewatch.)

Out of pure personal enjoyment, The Evil Dead gets a critical score of 9.2/10, and an enjoyment score of 9.4/10 for me personally.

The terrible awful acting, camera work/angles/cuts, sound quality, sound effects, writing, cringy lines, stupid characters, in the first 25 minutes really set the tone of the garbage I was about to get into.
Really wished I was wrong or that it was js a bad first impression but-

Not sure if I just wasn’t in the mood for this movie when I watched it, but I really couldn’t get into it. Least favorite horror movie I watched with Ben.

The Evil Dead is a handily told scare-story which employs splatter effects in a caricatured way to accent a relentless mounting tension.

This was definitely the worst horror movie I have ever watched.

It was so predictable, and the acting oh god the acting was dreadful!

7.7 - This is an absolutely over-the-top, disgusting, gory, and wholly underrated cult classic and the definition of camp. But it’s pretty fun.

So bad it’s good!

so good to rewatch this one after having seen the second. watched with my brother, only to show him the second, but it was still a good time. I think he hates old movies in general, but the second one is too good not to see at some point in your life.

I’m so ashamed to say that I… didn’t love this lol. Like I love a good 80s classic, and this has great camera work and creative vfx, but that’s like it. Not scary, bad acting, characters so stupid and annoying you can’t even enjoy them, weird pacing with no urgency, just blah.

I really wanted to like this but honestly it was pretty boring, it was definitely good for its time, brought a new gory element to horror, and inspired some of my favorite films but the movie itself was just alright. I will say I love how gory and raunchy this one is, it doesn’t

Watched it for the first time and I loved it, this B movie feeling around it is awesome.

Loved the practical effects in this movie. How much this movie made me feel uncomfortable at certain moments made me love it even more. Haven’t watched the other ones yet so don’t know yet how they compare to this one but a great start to the franchise.

Silliness of the zombies

7.5/10 this has got to be the nastiest,bloodiest,goriest and over the top horror movie I have ever seen. I legitimately thought I was going to puke.The special effects were very impressive,especially with the use of claymation. It is very infamous for many reasons that I can see👀
