The End
It’s getting a like because visually it’s a stunning film, but I’m not one for musicals in general. This could have been incredible but it felt somewhat repetitive

The End
This was a weird movie that didn’t really feel like it had a plot. Just people singing about living in a salt mine bunker.

The End
I was intrigued by the film's unique blend of apocalyptic drama and musical elements. Directed by Joshua Oppenheimer and starring Tilda Swinton, George MacKay, and Michael Shannon, this film follows a wealthy family living in an underground bunker after a global environmental disaster.
Rating
5.6/10
I gave this film a mediocre rating due to its inconsistent tone and uneven storytelling. While it had some impressive moments, it ultimately fell short of its full potential.
The Good
• Narrative & Story (Strengths): The film's premise is interesting, and the themes of survival and human relationships are well-explored.
• Characters (Strengths): Tilda Swinton's performance stands out, bringing depth and complexity to her character.
• Directing & Filmmaking (Strengths): The film's musical elements are innovative and impactful, adding to the overall atmosphere.
• Enjoyment & Engagement: I was engaged by the film's unique premise and strong performances.
The Not So Good
• Narrative & Story (Weaknesses): The pacing is uneven, and the story feels predictable at times.
• Characters (Weaknesses): Some characters feel underdeveloped, and their motivations are unclear.
• Directing & Filmmaking (Weaknesses): The tone is inconsistent, veering wildly between drama and musical.
• Enjoyment & Engagement (Negatives): The film's unevenness detracted from my overall enjoyment.
The Verdict
"The End" is an ambitious film that doesn't quite live up to its potential. With its unique premise and strong performances, I would recommend it to fans of apocalyptic dramas and musicals. However, viewers looking for a more cohesive story may be disappointed.
Additional Categories
• Genre & Tone: The film struggles to maintain a consistent tone, veering between drama and musical.
• Target Audience: The film seems to be targeting fans of apocalyptic dramas and musicals.
• Originality & Innovation: The film's use of musical elements in an apocalyptic setting is innovative, but not entirely successful.

The End
This is the exact type of musical that I despise. The cast, production, genres, and synopsis put this on my watchlist. I usually avoid trailers so finding out it was a musical was a surprise. I gave it a chance, and to put it short, 'The End' was what I was hoping for. No wonder they disguise 'remakes' and 'reimaginings' as musicals. I can't name one original musical that isn't a classic or Disney. It took me ten minutes, never mind the bold two and a half hour runtime, to realise that Joker 2 was one of the best recent reimaginings we've gotten, as far as musicals go, of course.

The End
Am I glad I stuck it out to the end of this film? Not really. I didn’t hate it, just feel like why was it a musical and what did that add. I wouldn’t recommend it but most of the cast made it a bearable watch. Not my cup of tea.
