This movie blew me away. Just as great if not better than Spielberg’s original film. This movie deserves some awards attention. It’s one of the best films of 2023.

Will definitely be revisiting the soundtrack, and I liked the storyline/themes as well so you think I’d enjoy the movie… but every scene is dragged out wayyyy longer than it needs to be to the point that I cared abt nothing and no one the last hour

This movie is a musical in the POV of a black woman in the 1900s. I think that the way the cinematography was and the actual writing of the story was beautiful. The voices, the cast were great, even if it was a remake of the original. I’d definitely say this is worth the watch

10/10! This remake was SO good!! So many great actors/actresses! So much emotion! All the classic lines you know & love from the original movie with a musical feel. If you have not seen this movie yet, definitely purchase a ticket to see it! 💜

Really good, It is a musical (for those who don’t know) I love musicals but it wasn’t advertised as one. The story was beautiful and gave homage to the original movie without feeling like a remake. Its its own thing.

It’s a good movie and fun to watch but I definitely recommend reading the book for more context before!! The book is really good btw it’s not a waste of your time🤩

This movie was a bank. A straight way for straight money. No one can redo the original color purple because of its massive accomplishments.
It’s like someone trying to be the new next Michael Jackson. This alliteration of a film… 7/10

Great movie. I am not emotional when watching things, but at the end I was crying like a baby. A good story of finding oneself and coming home. Some dark themes, but the acting and singing both are phenomenal

I prefer the story telling of this version than the original it feel less boring and the music are really good

Briliant actors and a strong story

Will love anything with Danielle Brooks in it but wow this is probably my favorite musical film to date. The messaging about sisterhood and self love is so powerful.

I loved it, it really made me emotional. Seeing how black people and specifically black women were treated, makes me admire their strength.

Honestly enjoyed this more than the original. I was very skeptical on it being a musical but it really worked and brought a lot of heart to the movie.
