The Color Purple

This movie blew me away. Just as great if not better than Spielberg’s original film. This movie deserves some awards attention. It’s one of the best films of 2023.

Will definitely be revisiting the soundtrack, and I liked the storyline/themes as well so you think I’d enjoy the movie… but every scene is dragged out wayyyy longer than it needs to be to the point that I cared abt nothing and no one the last hour

I loved it, it really made me emotional. Seeing how black people and specifically black women were treated, makes me admire their strength.

Honestly enjoyed this more than the original. I was very skeptical on it being a musical but it really worked and brought a lot of heart to the movie.
