So good! It’s been a while since a scary movie actually scared me!! Stephen King is the GOAT

The character of the Boogeyman is, needless to say, much better than in the original installments—granted, it was a different era—but the plot itself is, in my opinion, better and scarier.

The story follows how grief & holding on to pain can leave people open to something darker. Much like Lights Out & The Babadook, the monster becomes tied to emotional suffering rather than being just another creature. It doesn't add much new to the formula, but it was okay.

Honestly an amazing film with great scares from the get go. I think the mixed ratings come mainly from the ending but it is a Stephen King derivative so he has never been known for his endings haha!! Definitely kept me on my toes and wanting to sleep with the light on!
