The Blackcoat's Daughter

It took about 45 minutes for anything remotely interesting to happen, and even then, it was boring. The idea was good, but it was badly executed. (5-15-25)

extremely creepy and atmospheric. the movie was confusing at times, i had to look up an explanation for some things which is unfortunate. every character had something off-putting about them. i enjoyed it overall and would like to show it to others knowing what i know now.

Frustrating. I want to like it, the premise is intriguing and I really enjoyed some of the performances. However, I feel this movie collapses in on itself in an attempt to hide its “big” reveal. It often doesn’t make sense and it ends with a giant hole where the movie should be.

weak premise with little substance, shaky acting and full of plot holes. waits to give you anything at all until the final half hour. typical osgood perkins movie. 3/10

Underrated with a crazy twist way better on a second watch.
