I remain confused by old Hollywood’s obsession with painting teenage girls as lust-addled sirens luring adult men into bed, but at least this one didn’t actually have them do anything and in fact poked fun at the trope. Weirdness aside, I loved the romance between Dick and Margaret, and the cast’s chemistry was undeniable.

Classic in every way. And wow was Shirley Temple a little minx. I loved seeing her in this light. The quick banter and smart exchanges stay true to the idea of why classic movies are on a level all to themselves.
