The Aviator

Scorsese gives us a lot more than the Charles Foster Kane of the clouds. He keeps focus on Hughes, the dreamer, who continually reached out, grabbed the future and pulled it toward him.

Great lighting and cinematography from Martin Scorsese, especially in the first scene. Fantastic performance as well from Leo DiCaprio, and a star studded supporting cast.

May easily beat another favorite, Shutter Island.

It’s a bit long but keeps you engaged the whole time. Leo did a great job on this role throughout all the stages of Hughes Life. Hughes definitely was an interesting person in history being very innovative, having multiple disorders, and his life being all over the place. 8.5/10
