Loved this one. A+ acting and direction. Creepier and more surreal than I expected too. Deals with some deep questions around art, power and hypocrisy that have had me thinking about it since watching…

The first hour is SUPER slow. Very confusing at first, but it definitely picks up in the second half. Cate Blanchett gave an incredible performance. I can see how it would be more enjoyable if you are a classical music fan, but it was still a good story

apparently this isnt a biopic as i thought lol.

maybe im just dense, but i didn't know what the heck was happening or being said for about 90% of the movie. was way too long for whatever it was trying to be, but it had its moments.

also cate blanchett was giving ellen pomeo

The only good thing in the movie is the score.

Very long and technical dialogue and the ending was a little underwhelming. But great acting and tension

just wow… written by someone who is truly passionate about music, immersive atmosphere and storytelling with an unreliable narrator; incredibly shot (scenes in one take are amazing); and cate… long live the queen!

A long movie in which very little happens. Acting was good, but I found it dull. I challenge you to watch this movie at home and not look at your phone during it. You can’t.

I liked this movie a lot. Definitely plays with your head

Cate Blanchett DELIVERS. A compelling story but a failed ending.

It couldn’t hook me, I spaced out through most of the dialogue, which is all of the movie.
I was expecting a movie more about the music and conducting , like how the trailer made it look, I was disappointed.

so confusing and very boring

Phenomenal. At 158 minutes, this film flew by for me. It was paced so well, with each scene building tension on the last. The way it makes intimate conversations so riveting is so impressive.

The production design and costuming is amazing, as is the set design and locations. Everything feels so real and lived in, while also being stunning.

Performances are top tier, of course. Nothing more I could ask from anyone. And I loved the ending. The way the entire narrative unfolded over 2.5ish hours had me hooked and I couldn’t look away. I really think this is such a feat of filmmaking.

I genuinely thought this was a true story for like 2/3 of the movie 😭😭😭. Cate Blanchett ate so hard. I love whatever this archetype of movie is, with someone who’s kinda a piece of shit but you also love them, rising to their peak fame or stardom or power or whatever and then crashing and burning so hard. And I feel like I haven’t seen a woman play that role so diversity win 😭. Love a manipulative lying diva for real.

A misunderstood genius and one that I wish could hear more music from!
