T2 Trainspotting Reviews

The fist Trainspotting was about heroin. The second is about another dangerously addictive drug: nostalgia. T2 is mostly a character study of damaged people trying to reconcile their troubled pasts and find a motivation to move forward.

Enjoyed it.. Almost as good as the first one.. Pulling off a sequel after 20 years isn’t easy.

liked the first, absolutely loved part II.

the cinematography is phenomenal.

i could feel the nostalgia of going back to their old lives, the flashbacks from the first film… my god.

absolute goosebumps when spud walked out to the street and you see old spud and mark running down the street and you hear the melody “of born slippy” in the background. my god. my hairs were sticking upwards. truly iconic.

that fact that it was produced almost 20 years ago and to be this fucking good is so hard to hit.

Wow this sequel was so good, the editing! the music! the shots all very well done. We’re now seeing where everyone is 20 years later, the world has changed without them so they cling to nostalgia and old habits.

7.5 - Genuinely think I enjoyed this more than the first one. The whole aspect of them clinging onto their past and seeking retribution in their own ways kinda hits hard. That combined with moments of really great comedy make for a really enjoyable watch

a smart yet unnecessary sequel that can’t live up to the original’s iconic image but builds upon it successfully. characters are given newfound purpose and there are just as many batshit crazy sequences with fun writing and an entertaining plot
