Pretty good. Not my favorite Japanese animation film. Beautiful visuals. Pretty interesting story. But felt a bit long, like it kept dragging on. The implied romance between Suzume and Souta felt weird/forced (she only knew him for a few days and 95% of the time he was a chair??)

9.5/10. Makoto Shinkai does it again with another artistic delight that not only breaks my soul but also drives my hunger for more content by him. I’m going to give his past works a revisit

The visuals and music are 10/8, stories 10/5 feels like a short movie extended to a long one, the main female character 10/0 weak, dump, and she hurt little kitty😡.

Incroyable

The visuals were absolutely stunning and I loved the cats. However, the plot was lacking. The age gap between the two love interests was off putting. The characters were horribly flat and it left a lot to be desired. One of those movies that would be better watched on mute.

I felt like watching several good episodes from a season worth of anime. The film felt like it’s about to end at least a couple of times.
The film’s still very touching though. Growing up on the island so close to Japan, we witnessed many disastrous tragedies throughout the years, so I couldn’t help but tear up when the date on the diary stopped at 3/11. You don’t even need a year attached for it to land and hit so hard. This must’ve been therapeutic to make/watch if you’re from Japan, or if you knew the context and had gone through similar experiences. The monologues about outgrowing traumatic events are very moving.
This might not be 新海誠’s best work, but it definitely worths a watch.

Very cuteeee

Really nice visuals! Felt like there was some symbolism or deeper meaning that I’m just not understanding because the story seemed flat.

I mean the visual is breathtaking but it didn’t justify the crappiness of this film. The storyline was not that captivating and left me clueless at the end of the film because I kept being lose along watching this.

I spent most of the movie, enjoying the animation and confused as hell about the story. To this day I still don't understand it - great animation though.
