I think the reviews for this are way too harsh. I actually really enjoyed this, I found supergirl and lobo to have great performances. The pacing and story was a bit weak but the fight scenes were really cool! I got Star Wars vibes from the different planets…

I knew I was going to love this and I’m estatic that i did.

My only main thing is I get the revenge plot thing but it hits a little less when the revenge is against a child rapist 🫠 like sorry not sorry but rapists - especially child rapists - shouldn’t be allowed to live.

The DCU is expanding! Supergirl shows you the intergalactic side of this universe through this adventure with Kara and Ruthye. This film is an adaptation of the beloved Woman of Tomorrow graphic novel. Is this a perfect adaptation, no, but it works and I like most changes. The important part is the emotional core of the story was kept in tact, along with the characters! Milly Alcock puts on a fantastic performance as Kara who is a broken and reluctant hero due to her traumatic life on Argo city. I really enjoyed the flashbacks and insight into her past on krypton and how she made it to Earth. Eve Ridley’s portrayal of Ruthye, the naive and revenge driven girl who is taken under Kara’s wing was great! And Jason Mamoa IS Lobo. Krem felt like a basic villain, but that’s very similar to his character in the book. I enjoyed the story overall and how it was put to screen. It had everything, great action, fast paced (sometimes too fast) a lot of humor, and a lot of heart and emotion. It really was a rollercoaster, it looked good visually although I would’ve liked some more color here and there but I think the dark and gloomy atmosphere works for to tone of the story and how broken Kara is.

Can’t wait to see what’s to come with Kara in the DCU going forward. Superman in this film was a cherry on top but he wasn’t just a cameo, he was important to Kara’s development. With the way this ended, I’m excited for Man of Tomorrow!

Gf told me Supergirl’s got a punchable face... Wanted to like this way more, but it ain’t right. Alcock carried this movie. Corenswet returning & every time on screen was just awesome. Sadly i didn’t get attached to the plot. The flashback placement was odd. Script was ehhh… 6/10

i tried so hard to love it, but i just couldnt.
the first half wasn’t that good, but the second half definitely was alright. i promise you i wanted to like it so bad

Good but shouldn’t have changed so much from the source material, L move on their part.

Everyone is saying this movie is “mid” but i think this is a decent time, first praise I LOVE Mille as Kara she is as perfect casting as David. The plot is good and the movie is consistently entertaining. The villain is shit and that girl was annoying, overall 8.6/10

there are parts that feel like a sequel to a supergirl movie. we see one montage and immediately go to the villain and side character. so boring. also hated the fight scene where we don’t actually see her fighting at all, it’s just offscreen. yeah that’d be fine if we had even seen her fight up that point… and by the end nothing even makes up for it. I guess it would if the only good scenes weren’t spoiled in the trailers tho.

just so many things happening while nothing is happening at the same time. krypto not being in most of the movie was not good, especially when the whole point of the movie ended up being her trying to save him… it just didn’t work for me. the side character girl sucked, the villain(s?) sucked, song at the end was terrible along with the scenes they decided to slow down. lots of bad.

lobo was great, milly was great, seeing superman was great… which isn’t much but they make it worth watching.

This movie furthered the point that the DCU will be great. Felt like the first few that marvel had, introduced a character that has lots of potential with a subpar antagonist. Loved Milly as Kara and Jason was an incredible Lobo. Seth rogen cameo was cool.

It’s not bad. But it’s also not good. There’s some good character development and I actually like what they did with supergirls past and her trauma. But a mediocre villain and some generic fight scenes just made this feel bland when it could have been great. We also needed much more krypto in it. And less of the little revenge girl.

Teach, demand, plead, beg that the little girl shows mercy… but oh, I’ll just freaking merk everyone in my way. And yeah, if the little girl kills other people, it’s okay, they’re just in the way towards the main goal… learning how to forgive. 🤔
