Still Alice
One of my favorite movies of all-time. Alice is such a relatable and likable character that it’s utterly heartbreaking to watch her family and herself completely unravel. Julianne Moore is absolutely incredible! (Also…shout-out to Kristen Stewart as well!)

Watching someone slowly fade away feels so real. Julianne Moore’s performance stays with you long after the film ends.

Moore's performance was marvellous to behold. The gradual shift from a fierce and confident professor to a lost, confused woman through her eyes makes you feel the Alzheimer with her. The pacing, which becomes more fragmented, with scenes skipping ahead in time more drastically

Absolutely heartbreaking. One of the worst diseases to watch someone go through. Julianne Moore was incredible, watching her lose some of her key personality traits, being smart and confident, was depressing. She’s so relatable here. Great performances from the family as well.

The film does an excellent job handling its subject matter. The pacing is fairly linear, and perhaps a stronger emotional impact would have helped. 7.5/10

Why do movies have to be this sad. This fear, this depressing story, it scares me. I don’t want this to happen to me, I wouldn’t be able to survive. 9/10.

Still Alice
For as good as it could have been, I felt the movie was drawn in too many directions. And while an unfair comparison, “The Father” is a far more intense and accurate movie.

i know disease/chronic illness are all brutal in their own way but this film made it seem like this is the worst. when she said she’d rather have cancer, i agreed. i’ve seen people suffer with cancer & it feels never ending but her not being able to do butterfly was devastating
