Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

5/10 Hmm… maybe leave the writing to Roddenberry and Nimoy. It felt like a bad ripoff in comparison to the others. The plot was a bit shallow and although I did laugh a couple of times it just wasn’t enough for me. I did love the Spirk moments and Kirk’s atheist commentary.

The cinematography TOOK A LEAP in this movie, like right from the beginning you could see how much it had improved...but, I would say this was another one that visuals looked great, but the story just wasn't it for me, like it started off amazing, but then it was just whatever

2024 Rewatch:
Y'know, it's actually well-shot, with a nice score from Jerry Goldsmith, and a couple decent moments of crew camaraderie, but it's not enough to save it from its many baffling moments, characterization inconsistencies, and issues with story execution. Borgus Frat!
