Star Trek Beyond

Best of the reboots because the characterization is most intact from TOS. Kirk is much more mature. Bones is more relevant again. It has the best humor of the three. The least brain-dead as well, while not as cerebral as classic Trek. Krall twist didn't have enough build-up, but he was alright. Perfects the style of the trilogy and retcons the worst things about it.

4/7/24 Rewatch: Downgrading from ❤️ to 👍. I now slightly prefer 2009.

Making Sulu gay was SO UNNECESSARY it honestly pissed me off...
Also not bringing back Carol (Alice Eve) was CRIMINAL, smh
The scene where Spock holds the picture with the original crew almost made me tear up, after watching all the movies back to back it really connects you🥹

Absolutely love this one! Of the three movies this villain is probably the weakest imo, but besides that it’s definitely my favorite in the series.
