Not my favorite war movie, and the narration was mostly unnecessary, but it was pretty good.

Im usually not a fan of blending humor and joviality with a serious setting, but its Billy Wilder, so he made it work.

I consider this a rare “perfect film.” Consistently in several top ten lists across multiple categories, and absolutely deservedly so. Comedic, dramatic, suspenseful, it hits so many notes that you have to stop counting.

Weird subject to make light of, but I’m sure a lot of people needed a laugh after all that. Either way, great characters with funny bits.

One of my favorite movies.
