Whether or not it can attract audiences looking for a tense spy thriller, the time spent on character development and eye-opening revelations is wholly watchable.

When it comes to Oliver Stone, I'm all eyes and ears. I'm a fanboy of his films, more so his biopics, and I admire his politics. The runtime might run a little long, but for a story this dense and consequential, two hours is barely enough. Plus, the insights and performances make it worthwhile. The accuracy isn't 100%, but the changes made, mainly due to dramatisation or unavailable sources, don't affect the key facts or core messages of the film. From a prying, pitiless, power-hungry governmental machine to small, voiceless, everyday people, Snowden could have let corruption thrive in ignorance. Instead, he put his life on the line and pushed back. To me, that's true heroism.

Interessant mal mehr über die Snowden Geschichte zu erfahren, aber der Film war zwischendurch ziemlich lang. Einige Passagen fühlen sich doppelt an.

While it’s pretty by the numbers at times, this is still a solid biopic. Joseph Gordon Levitt delivers a great performance and the themes are compelling and thought provoking. The romantic relationship is the weakest aspect of the film. It’s a good film with a few flaws.

I think the best part of this movie is Levitt’s riveting performance as the expert hacker who exposed the governments secrets. This movie is really slow, but it tells a story that I think needed to be told cuz it’s a harsh reality. I think this film is worth a shot. 8.4/10!!!!!!!

This based on a true story movie is full of determination,bravery and courage. I loved it. Snowden really proves that one person can make a difference. But at what cost ?
8/10 underrated for something that really happen

Pretty good. Don’t remember much, it’s been like 4 years since I watched. Honestly anything with Joseph Gordon Levitt is usually pretty good. All I remember is that I liked it and that I found out like right at the end when dad asked what movie it was, that it’s based on truth.

This is an excellent film and does not get the recognition that it should because Edward Snowden is such a controversial character. Like him or hate him, he brought things to light for what he felt was the betterment of the public to know. It’s an important part of tech-history.

A fantastic slice of modern history. JGL is fantastic and the paranoia really builds along with the plot. Doesn’t come across as heavy-handed, but does a great job at hammering home the severity of the subject matter.

Edward Snowden is such a controversial character that they won’t even bother watching this movie. Weather we like him or not, he brought things to light to everything that was going on, how they were tracking our every move and for that he risked everything. 10/10

A sort of eerie spy thriller, that makes you feel like you’re being watched. It’s interesting watching Snowden go from this know it all student, to realize what he’s doing is wrong and how that changes how he feels about his job and politics. He risked it all to help, but did it?

As an IT professional and a veteran I will say this movie definitely hits home. Our rights and civil liberties are eroding. True story.

Interesting story and I love any unveiling of the corruption of the government.

Great dramatization of what could’ve been a documentary, this made it much more entertaining and interesting to watch. Has some great sentiments that are still applicable to this day.

Did a good job showing the full rise of Snowden. Crazy story and good detail about what data was available. Also wrapped up good by showing the real life aftermath. Not like a gripping thriller, but fine and educational watch.
