Smile had no business being this good

I was told this movie was going to be terrifying, traumatizing even, so me and my friend went to watch it in theaters. It was such a let down. It wasn't scary at all and I thought it was so bad that I almost got kicked out of the theater for laughing at it so loud. Cringe movie:)

2-3 rlly good jump scares, didn’t like the ending.

I’m not a horror person. So I watched this on my iPad in like 5 sittings to make it way less scary. Low key clever premise once it comes together. Only watched this because of good marketing (nice job paramount) and it was fun enough if you’re into movies like this

there were scary moments, but there wasn’t really a plot. it was definitely a little bit psychologically scary and elements were very good, but it couldn’t really be followed. the ending was also disappointing

Wow. This movie was phenomenal, but that ending made me severely upset, purely for the fact that I don’t like when things don’t work out in the end. The scares were top notch, the acting was real and visceral, and the situations were well constructed. Plus the visuals? Truly a 💯.

Gave me very much Ari Aster vibes. More than likely inspired by a lot of different horror movies, but it still brings its own thing to the table. Once I got 30 mins in, I was hooked. The whole middle section of the movie was okay, but it could have been slightly more interesting at times...then the ending had me speechless. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Nothing creepier than a smiler. I did get slightly annoyed at the very very end, and that's why I knocked a mark off. The cinematography, acting, and ideas were brilliant, I can't wait for number two.

Pretty scary but it fucking sucked

Not a bad movie! Could’ve been scarier, but I was definitely screaming inside the movie theatre several times. They could have spun the narrative differently to make the ending less predictable. It did leave several questions unanswered at the end of the film. 6.5/10

I liked the premise but the overall execution was a bit lackluster in my opinion. There are a few good moments and a decent performance by Sosie Bacon but the cliche horror movie tropes and predictable plot left me feeling a bit underwhelmed when the movie ended

why did this movie actually scare me…probably because of the underlying theme of mental illness and trauma. the ending was horrible.

What is this movie? No literally. I can’t believe I watched all of that. I thought that since everybody seemed to be in love with it that it would be good, but no. AND THE ENDING. Probably has to be one of the worst outcomes. It definitely had potential, but it did not work out.

Really good movie, didn’t really get the wild reactions to it though it was a pretty average horror movie. But I liked it 8/10

my disappointment is immeasurable, my day is ruined, my evening soiled beyond repair. the trailer was sick, concept was cool enough but the acting was garbage, no cool needles drops(??), lacks style and finesse. lots of pointless building and prolonging of a subpar plot
