5/10 this movie was awful like actually. So cheesy and so much gore with horrid acting. Some decent psychological thriller to it and jump scares is the only reason it’s getting above a 3

Pure chaos. Great scares, made me jump multiple times. Extremely dark themes in this film, kind of triggering. Very psychological and very scary. I enjoyed it a lot more than the first. Main actress was phenomenal. Insane ending. Loved it and hated it. This did everything right.

I don’t get scared easily but omfg this movie got me with their jump scares. So so good, a lot action, and definitely better than the first one for sure. Naomi Scott was made for the role like wow, a really phenomenal actress, literally remembered her from Lemonade Mouth. Plot >>

THE EXACT SAME FUCKING STORY AS THE FIRST BRO, WHAT R U GUYS ON. THIS WAS DOG SHIT. NO FUCKING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS AND THE FIRST. YOU ROOT FOR THE MC, THINK THEYLL BE THE ONE TO BREAK THE PATTERN, AND END UP WILDLY UNSATISFIED. THIS WAS FUCKING SHITTTT. i’m so fucking upset bc u guys led me on to think this was so much better than the first. it’s the same fucking story. i’ll never watch another smile movie. naomi obviously kills and deserves all the accolades for this performance but the story is absolute dog shit with no evolution from the first. wasted my mf time.
it’s suspenseful as hell, shot beautifully, has solid jumpscares but the ending ruins all of it ridiculously so. the fact we never knew what was real and what was fake was good… eXCEPT FOR WE NEVER GET AN ANSWER. WHY?!? AND FUCKING HOWWW?!?! just so many unanswered questions that bled over from the first. i’m so pissed off bc it had so much potential. such a fucking let down.

honestly it had a couple of scares. i was freaked out by the hair pulling, hands in mouth, and old man freak. other than that it wasnt scary. and the ending was completely disappointing!! like IF IT WAS ALL IN HER HEAD WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE MOVIE??!!! it felt so cheap

I didn’t think I’d be impressed with #1 and was pleasantly surprised. This one exceeded even that by having an awesome performance from Naomi Scott, incredible tension throughout the entire runtime, and doing what few horror movies can actually pull off, effective jump scares

I thought it was really funny, but that only works if it’s supposed to be a comedy. The ending ruins everything for me since nothing really mattered. The entire story just “didn’t happen” so there was no progression of the story or character development at all.

A big improvement from sequel. It elevates on everything; the pace, tense, acting, gore and jumpscare. You can feel the desperation and grief from the leads and I was rooting for her all the time. She didn’t know she released bops after bops because the EP was so damn good.

Dude it was so bad, I was laughing.
How are y’all hyping it up so much? 💀
It’s SO obviously sponsored. The main character is chugging Voss sponsored water every 10 freaking minutes 😭
How the smile demon gonna hallucinate a whole skid mark? 😭😭

An equal to Smile 8.5 - I loved this but I think I’m the only one who didn’t love it more than its predecessor. It does a lot well. The gore is amped up, the jump scares are just as well executed, & Naomi Scott crushes her role. But the blueprint is a copy/paste, the ending is predictable from the blurb or a trailer alone, & the commentary on mental health & that being the driving force for this monster is a lot weaker. In a pure horror fun sense it’s exactly what the franchise needed. It just fails to grow or deepen the universe lore meaningfully.
I’m so happy to say that it fails to “ruin” the franchise however. And I will absolutely watch it again.

definitely different from the first movie!
1st movie shows the process of the spirit or whtevr transferring from one person to another.
2nd movie shows how it truly ruins a persons life, more specifically a famous singer.
jump scares got me GOOD! & got me every single time.

Even scarier than the first one, good follow-up film that did justice to the original. Great acting from Naomi Scott, great to see her in a whole different role than the goody goody Disney princess.

Wow. I’m not sure what I expected but this definitely was so much worse than I could have hoped for LOL. The acting was over the top not in a fun campy way, the writing was embarrassing, and the whole story made no sense. Don’t waste your time watching!

Another insane trip. You feel the impact a smile can have straight away. Smile 1 smilers made me uneasy, and I'm not sure if the gimmick wore off but for this, I strangely found myself smiling back, unless there was gore. Shows how contagious or dangerous a smile can be. By far Naomi Scott's best performance. I expected something cheesy but I could relate to every emotion she displayed, and the songs were just as good. If it wasn't confusing enough the camerawork will definitely spin you around. The experience is improved when you know what the portrayals actually mean. Took me days to realise, and then I got chills rethinking every scene.

A lot better than the first one imo but this movie was super predictable, I knew exactly how this was going to end as soon as they established she was famous and a few of the plot beats were predictable as well — this didn’t ruin the movie for me but it might for some
I liked the idea of it being a cosmic horror vs a demon — I feel like every horror movie its always a demon and idea that this one is/might be a cosmic horror (and be something much much more than what we see) is so refreshing because at least they’re trying to say something new
I feel like it draws a lot from the cosmic idea as throughout this movie not only are other people being manipulated but entire portions of reality are along with multiple scenes containing real life objects to form the shape of a smile
Solid horror
