5/10 this movie was awful like actually. So cheesy and so much gore with horrid acting. Some decent psychological thriller to it and jump scares is the only reason it’s getting above a 3

I honestly liked it more than the first! Naomi Scott was a perfect fit for the role

Pure chaos. Great scares, made me jump multiple times. Extremely dark themes in this film, kind of triggering. Very psychological and very scary. I enjoyed it a lot more than the first. Main actress was phenomenal. Insane ending. Loved it and hated it. This did everything right.

Definitely an improvement on the first film, Smile 2 feels bolder and far grander in scale. Certain issues persist, especially with dialogue where it often borders cringe, but the tension and twists outweigh most of the script issues, managing to keep the film engaging.

Naomi Scott really impressed me here. It’s a challenge to hit the role’s breakdown portrayal and increasing paranoia, but she absolutely kills it - her facial expressions alone have enough range to sell the situation. With the focus virtually solely on Scott, it’s a bit disappointing to sideline talent like Lukas Gage and Ray Nicholson who still need the opportunity to showcase themselves.
