So much was going on but it didn’t really move me. It wasn’t horrible, just didn’t care for it

Substance meets princess diaries type shit lol. Pretty good tbh as a white person I loved how they portrayed white ppl it's spot on and made me laugh at how absurd we are most of the time.

Good movie. Terrifying message.

I get what they’re going for. It’s The Substance but replace old people with Asian people. Yet some of the subtlety and nuance of The Substance is replaced with in your face and blatant messaging. It’s a good movie. Not scary. But more of a social commentary. It just is very in your face about it.

A little slow and didn’t care for the end. Glad I watched it though.

The messages are good. Reads a little Disney Channel for me. Not bad but marketing was not right at all lol

⭐⭐⭐ sometimes the grass isn't greener. I think it portrayed internalized racism well, the longing of belonging that developes into self hatred to change your race. Also highlights the importance of diversity, seeing oneself in media, being seen.

Slanted is the kind of movie that starts off feeling strange, uncomfortable, and even a little absurd—but underneath all of that is a surprisingly powerful story about identity, beauty standards, belonging, and how far someone might go just to feel accepted.

What really stuck with me was how the movie uses dark humor and horror to exaggerate something that is actually very real: the pressure to change yourself in order to fit someone else’s idea of what is beautiful or desirable. There were moments that made me laugh, moments that made me uncomfortable, and others that genuinely made me think.

It’s definitely weird—and intentionally so—but by the end you realize there’s much more being said beneath the surface. Slanted isn’t just entertaining; it leaves you questioning how much of ourselves we’re willing to sacrifice for acceptance. Different, disturbing, clever, and definitely a conversation starter.

i get the message but this movie had so much going on but also nothing??? it was so flat and the dialogue was so awkward. i also dont like how they never elaborated on the other issues THEY BROUGHT UP. this is a background movie at best.

It felt like a TikTok Twilight Zone. I wish it wouldn’t have been so campy during the first half. It really distracted from the social commentary and point it was trying to make and subsequently left it lacking the depth it needed. It’s unfortunate, it’s a good concept.
