this movie is a prime example of parents overhyping movies because they are blinded by nostalgia

The definition of “didn’t age well”, I didn’t grow up watching John Hughes movies so I could get the nostalgia factor

This movie is lowkey insanely offensive 😭, but for the sake of this review I’m going to have to ignore that. The movie itself was just a typical 80s rom com, except the romance had like 10 minutes of screen time and the rest of the movie focused on the side characters I like that

Very obviously written by a man. Horribly politically incorrect, the jokes were sexist, racist, homophobic and overall not very funny😜

I love 80s movies and I love Molly Ringwald, but I couldn’t get past the repeated rape jokes. Lots of funny scenes and the movie was okay, but overall not that enjoyable and I didn’t like the ending.

This movie didn’t age well in some areas that’s for sure but the film itself is very well done. I love Molly Ringwald and John Hughes’s movies in general. I like this movie for what it is and I try to ignore the controversial parts because I understand this movie is older.
