Sicario
"In Mexico, 'Sicario' means hitman."
I really should've kept the title card in mind because, woah. Now I see why they want Villeneuve for the next Bond film. Great casting, especially with Benicio. Tense scoring, striking cinematography, and powerful storytelling. I expected a harsh atmosphere, given its focus on the ongoing US-Mexico drug war, but I didn't expect such an unforgiving, brutal deep dive in its exploration of justice, morality, and power. Every scene violently hurls out impossible ethical dilemmas at the cost of what all sides of any war exploit: innocence.

Some really Cool scenes but the whole story seemed like it came from the wrong angle I much would’ve rathered if it followed from Alejandro’s perspective.

Wow that dinner table scene! An epic story of the grips the cartel has on the crime world, and the extremes even the authorities will go to stop them.

So much better then I remember, Dennis is honestly a top 10 director for me. That score along side the SFX just so 😮💨, also Benicio is such a good actor man

One of my favorites movies of Denis, a story that retracts the harsh reality of the situation here in Mexico, from a foreign perspective (Emily Blunt's character). I was TENSE during the film and the plot twist was 😮. 9/10

i had read something on the internet and i had lots of exceptions; i watched it with my dad and we’re both disappointed. it was extremely hard to focus well on dialogues and the story was confusing
(maybe i’ll rewatch it)

The beginning hooked me, it was tense the whole movie and had a decent plot twist. Acting was really good and Denis villeneuve does it again!

This consistent and hard edged thriller portrays the complexity of the war on drugs. Probably my favorite aspect of this film is the cinematography, it really blew me away at some points. I didn’t care for the story too much but everything else kept the film engaging.

9/10 With Taylor Sheridan story teller and direction of Denis Villeneuve create an excellent glimpse into the on going war on Drug. With great casting to boost. Defo recommend this film.

I’m really not a big fan of Villeneuve, but this was great. Hiring Kate for professional black ops spook work is like hiring Sheldon Cooper for the fucking SOG. The MOST unqualified candidate imaginable, no matter how many times the benefit of the op is proven. This is a 75+

Benicio del toro I’ve grown quite fond but mostly scared of you. Emily blunt ate down wish they made her a lesbian. It wouldn’t have affected the plot that much I just think I should get what I want.

It’s fine. Story is pretty muddled and ends up feeling flat. The mid level acting doesn’t really help either. Kinda disappointed because I felt like it genuinely had something fresh to offer. A one and done is what we end up with tho.

8.5/10 - Great movie! Such a good story with great characters in it. Amazing cast who performed very well and really embodied their characters. Never seen Emily Blunt in a role like this before and she was great. Lots of unexpected moments, but also some expected, to my surprise.
