I think this is between a 7.5-8 star rating for me, actually been one of the tougher movies to rate for me. It’s really good and I thought the plot was good other than a few holes. Acting is great and the portrayal of prison life was interesting. I think ultimately the major theme that sticks out is how people become part of the environment they are in. I kept wondering why did he send the coordinates to the cops? That makes no sense but looking at it with a broader lens you understand that he wanted to be in prison and wanted to be the head guy. It was a really interesting movie and I thought they did well portraying many different themes. Makes you think a little which I enjoy. Recommend for crime and mob/ gang lovers.

Best prison movie

Oh my damn. This film was completely different than what I expected to be. It was absolutely incredibly made.

I went into this film completely blind (thank god) and I was just punched in the face with a stunning story about how prison changes a person completely.

I loved the way the film showed the present and the past of Jacob simultaneously and left no gaps in between giving us the full picture.

The story could’ve been done a bit differently with the whole illegal guns storyline and maybe made could’ve been more wide but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I love finding some hidden gems to go into blindly and come back with a new experience and end up enjoying it more than a film I know about.

Overall a very well done film with amazing acting and good characters.

Didn’t know the movie was this good

Very accurate depiction of US prisons, also it had some super great shots and the casting wasn’t half bad

a chilling thrilling movie that keeps your attention. a lesson in consequences, survival, and family. caring for your family at any cost.

Badass crime thriller and a great character study. Of a average guy becoming a cold blooded criminal just because of fate was insane.
Basically he got the Walter White movie treatment.

Great show. Amazing acting. The story shows how quickly your life can change when trying to survive. Fantastic twists!

Really close to being a great movie but it just doesn’t quite make sense. Compelling characters, good acting, good style of storytelling, but ultimately the character arc just doesn’t really check out. Entertaining watch though

Fascinating showing how someone’s life could change in a blink of an eye literally.Even at the end I couldn’t understand his motive or how did he change like 180 degrees without looking back or even thinking of redemption, cinematography wasn’t that much but a superb acting 8/10

Truly deserved a sequel!
