The Secret Agent

Considerably better on a rewatch not having to follow the story and just living in recife alongside armando and the community he found himself in. Appreciate the music even more. Lightbox!

wtf is this

A Brazilian thriller and a best picture nominee. I went in wanting to love it, and I watched about half before I stopped. I can't blame the subtitles. It simply did not hold me, and I could not finish it despite the acclaim.
5/10

A great movie that I didn't fully understand due to the lack of cultural and historical background. IMDb Trivia has clarified so many things, as always.
Difficult to say I enjoyed it, but I learned a lot.
Acting was often off (effect of seeing a different culture on the screen).
