Considerably better on a rewatch not having to follow the story and just living in recife alongside armando and the community he found himself in. Appreciate the music even more. Lightbox!

wtf is this

A film that makes me (like “I’m still here”) reminisce of a time that I never lived. And what’s so interesting about that is that the awful events happen in that time and the happy/closure events happen in present day.

The difference in color between present and past is insane, the past, vibrant, colorful and exciting. The present, muted, clinical and boring. That is genius.

The story is exceptional, and a film that is 160 minute long and makes it feel like a 90 minute film, that’s genius in pacing.

Performance wise, Wagner Moura is making me question my Oscar top pick, I’ll leave it to that

But fair, the movie takes us straight into the 79s, every single person in the cast is excellent, the soundtrack is great, and it does make us think. But why call it The Secret Agent..?

Stunning film and great performances, but a little long and slow for me.
