I started this movie expecting it to be a knock off, satirical superhero film, but I was soon humbled by the major plot twist. The story concept was original and pretty well through out. Not much to say on the acting however. It doesn’t seem like much, but it was a decent movie.

The gritty, grounded world felt lived-in, & the twist while somewhat foreseeable gave the story weight. It balanced action and emotional beats well, & the smaller-scale stakes made it more personal than typical superhero blockbusters.

Exactly what you would expect from a straight to streaming superhero movie. It feels a lot like Prime Video’s version of Black Adam. Overall it was fine, definitely not something I’ll be rushing to see again, but fine for what it was.

Samaritan tries to flip the superhero script with gritty vibes and Stallone doing the grumpy legend thing—but it’s more meh than memorable. Cool idea, weak execution. Feels like a comic book that forgot to turn the page. Not awful, just forgettable.
