Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken

Felt like a combination of Turning Red and some weird Dreamworks retaliation against the Little Mermaid. Decent one time watch but I feel like they gave it all away in the trailer.

With a clunky plot, lackluster third act battle, and a “twist villain” that was revealed in the trailer, the film came out very boring.

Why did I watch this

why was this made, the designs are horrendous

I like the animation style and all but idk it didn’t stand out to me. It was like REALLY random and I just don’t like sirens and stuff like that. I watched mostly because I heard that Salish was in it, but this is a good kids movie.(maybe why it’s not for me)

started off meh but better at the end. i’m generally opposed to how kids movies/tv shows are animated and written “nowadays,” for qualities that were present in this movie. despite the hurdles, i still somewhat enjoyed it, so i guess this is actually a pretty strong endorsement
