Best part of this movie is when Rocky beats the hell out of Tommy’s ass

A great end to the series. The drama’s pretty on point —keeping focus on the family and Rocky and his son was great— the story was good, and the antagonists were too. Duke is slimy and Tommy’s fall makes it all the more satisfying when he’s beat in the street by Rocky.

It may be compromised, but what it's trying to do is worthwhile enough to appreciate the effort. Because if its reputation, Rocky V is now the ultimate underdog of the underdog series.

It shines in its exploration of boxers’ physical toll and the emotional cost, anxiety of their loved ones. Rocky’s fear of leaving the ring permanently injured adds depth. The premise is compelling, the execution feels uneven. It’s not the best but that ending was satisfying.
