I love raw old fantasy films, so I was really looking forward to watching this. Unfortunately, it might need a second viewing because I can't remember a whole lot. Great cast, wonderful designs, decent music, cool action, and a generic premise. I've not seen the original, but from what I've gathered, it seems to be on par with it. Certain aspects are better and others worse. For a low budget though, it's decent enough. Oh, and the monsters were cool.

Hoping for a fun fantasy flick. Wanted to love this barbarian story, but the choppy pacing and messy plot honestly left me disappointed.

What Worked:
• Lutz brings a lot of heart. Her vulnerable but tough vibe totally works for me.
• The sword choreography is rad. The long, extended takes really popped.
• The cyclops arena fight gave me major video game boss vibes. I honestly lived for it.

The Friction:
• Juggling way too much made the middle really drag for me.
• The villain’s motives felt weak. I honestly didn’t buy the weird romantic subplot either.
• Cheap CGI and world-building totally pulled me out of the fantasy stakes.

Verdict:
Watch for mindless sword-swinging background noise. Skip if you honestly prefer a tighter story.

The CGI in this movie is really bad but I can get past that. The movie starts out rough and I’m not sure I was enjoying it, but then something changes and I actually start to really enjoy this movie. It’s kind of like a female gladiator and I was here for it. Give it a chance ride the wave and enjoy the movie.

Honestly, not really that bad but it’s just so low budget it makes you want to hate it?

Very late night syfy channel B movie vibe. Wasn’t expecting a lot but I didn’t hate it.

I’m not sure what exactly it was about it, but the filmmakers thrust you into this fantasy story without really establishing it so when you see these mythical creatures and technology it’s a bit jarring. I’m surprised that a film with this much action could be this boring.

Holy balls it was so bad but I still liked it. reminded me of the 80s version from all the cheese. done right this could have been absolutely epic. what a shame

Red Sonja is a classic fantasy adventure packed with sword fights, magic, and over-the-top action. Brigitte Nielsen stands out as the fierce warrior Sonja, delivering a bold, iconic performance.

Amazing movie. Loved it. She is so badass ❤️

Kind of like the “woman” version of Braveheart but with the addition of fantasy and it appeared to be a bit too much with the ideas and inventions, but it’s ok to watch if nothing comes to mind

It’s cool. I don’t know much about Red Sonja. I was expecting some different a bit. The movie is very low budget and the CGI is terrible. CGI from the 90s.
