RED 2
Neatly balancing murderous mayhem with goofy, sophisticated humor, this twisty, blackly comic crime caper is perfectly tuned by its first-rate cast.

This is similar to the original. A great cast that’s wasted again with a weak script and plot but theirs some good action scenes and funny moments

Loved the second one just as much as the first. These movies are just good fun, great action too!

8/10 - probably not as good as the first one, but still enjoyable, funny, and entertaining.

Rating: 5.9/10 ⭐️
I queued this up hoping for that first-movie magic, but it really just felt like going through the motions. It definitely lost the 2010 original's charm.
The Director’s Eye:
The globe-trotting espionage vibe looks super slick. Looking through my traditional lens, I really loved Frank's motivation: he just wants to settle down into a quiet domestic life and protect his girl. Malkovich is hilarious, and Helen Mirren remains iconic as a refined, old-school assassin. The orchestral score hits those big action beats nicely without overpowering things.
The Cuts:
The plot is way too convoluted. They bounce around chasing a Cold War weapon, and the middle part really dragged for me. Honestly, Willis looked kind of bored and lost that scrappy underdog spark. Also, the humor felt super forced; pushing everyone to be wacky totally watered down the actual spy stakes.
Verdict:
A passable popcorn flick if you just want to see legends shooting big guns, but it misses the original's heart.
Favorite Line: “I'm retired. I'm trying to lead a normal life.”

I watched both RED and RED 2, and honestly I think the second one was a bit better.
The first movie was more of a comedy with guns than a serious action film, and that’s what made it fun. The action was solid, the cast chemistry was great, and the humor felt natural.

One of the few sequels that are actually better than the original. An excellent film.
