This is a weird movie that has a lot of anger through out it. However, I liked the messages in it about believing in yourself and putting yourself first in life so you aren’t walked on.

Weird and surreal (as Torres’ work always is) but very enjoyable. Tilda Swinton was unrecognisable and brilliant.

One of the most creative movies I’ve ever seen. Amazing performances by everyone involved. Strong highlights of the inefficiencies of the immigration process and bank policies in place for almost no logical reason but to steal your money. Stellar dialogue. 9.5/10

Not for me, but once I started watching I had to finish. Greta Lee was my favourite part of the whole thing. Cute overall message, weird overall movie.

If you’re into surrealism watch this film. I loved the themes and some of the scenes were so relatable. It shows how US immigration sets you up to fail in its flawed system. It’s quirky and weird but there’s a lot to take from it.

everyone needs to look out for julio torres, who is already making some truly great surrealist queer works with plenty of wholly unique themes and elements. as enjoyable as it is awkward and painful, but ultimately heartwarming and rewarding. stunning colors, and of course tilda

In the vein of his Los Espookys and comedy specials writing, this charming movie had surprisingly resonant tidbits of wisdom sprinkled into the humorous plot. I want to watch it again

despite the horrors, latinos stay winning!! and white people stay being annoying and ignorant!!

A creative Dramedy about struggle along with selling egg paintings, contemplating getting frozen, engineering inappropriate toys, dealing with an insufferable Karen, and growing a backbone to avoid deportation.

Took separate watch times bc we fell asleep, but very quirky and fun. Hard to follow at times, but I think that’s the point

Had some really funny moments, but I desperately wanted to see less of Tilda Swinton. Found her character charmless.
