I really didn’t like this movie. Ofc it’s ghibli so it has great animating but even if it’s because of the year it’s based on/made on. It was very sexist and clear to see on that. Porco rosso is a playboy. It’s understandable why he got cursed to be a pig. As he acts like one

Pretty kickass movie. I hated the fact that the ending felt rushed, but aside from that it was a damn near perfect movie. I want a sequel

the story is boring and it doesn't work these days, like every studio ghibli film it has very good photography, but it is definitely one of the worst

One of my favorite anime’s of all time. “I’d rather be a pig than a Fascist”

You hear that line and realize it’s about a pig flying a plane in wartime. Does that not get your ears perked?

Undeniably sexist, but knowing Miyazaki’s other works I choose to view that he’s commenting on the stupidity of that concept along with some more adult themes

as always, studio ghibli and hayao miyazaki is AWESOME. if you don’t like the film because it has sexism and other stuff in it, that’s how it was back then and it was normal back then so deal with it

Although I think some things in this are weaker than other studio Ghibli movies, it’s ultimately a fun time watching this cool ass pig go about his shit in a nonchalant way. I really liked the dub voice for him, it makes lines like, “I’d rather be a pig than a fascist” and other great lines like that sound awesome.

This is a really fun movie. Has pretty much everything you come to expect from a Ghibli movie. The plot is fairly simple and there’s substantial character growth. Probably one of my favorite endings to any of the Ghibli movies

“Better to be a pig than a fascist.”

Another masterpiece from Miyazaki. Incredible artwork and great voice acting. The story moves fast just like our pig in the sky. The plot is simple but fun. All of the flight scenes were gorgeous and choreographed excellently. Some dialogue can feel purely expositional but overall it was done well. Ending was too quick and I wish we got that garden visit. Overall a recommendation for fans of Ghibli and fans of the war genre.
