Poor Things
This was my Barbie. Did a far better job exploring the depth of womanhood and led you to the reason behind the cruelty of humanity. Emma Stone gives a career-defining performance as Bella that you’ll likely never forget. Comedic, contemplative, cuckoo, and everything in between.

Poor Things
this thinly veiled pedophilic fantasy poses “what if a newborn was a sex addict?” and “what if that was feminism?”. if the graphic sexual assault was removed from this nearly 2.5 hr long film, there would be almost nothing left. revolting & violently unprofound - DO NOT WATCH

Poor Things
Movie was terrible. A horrible barrage of sexual assault poised as “progressive feminism”. Didn’t we leave such white, first-world, privileged, and incredibly flat understandings of “womanhood” in the 2010s?

9.8 - ART. It’s a visceral experience, through & through. Parts were deeply uncomfortable, others wholly moving. Emma Stone gives an all time performance. Lanthimos’s fingerprints are everywhere but it’s entirely unique. I flirted with a perfect score. I NEED a rewatch. Incredible.

Poor Things
Weird, very weird, but oh so good. Might be too grotesque for a casual rec to someone, but thought provoking yet brutally funny.

Genuinely disturbing like all Yorgos Lanthinmos movies. Bizzare and weirdly unsettling. I love weird but not the creepy type that throws sex at you every ten seconds. Yes, it was mediorcely realistic, but It lost all meaning in this beautifully twisted world building. The sounds, acting, script, and sight all intertwine so well. The 2 hours and 21 mins were far too long, though. I can usually withstand it, but my interest halfway through just wanted to hide. I'm sure it was purposely done, but it doesn't work, for me at least. The acting and cinematography was probably the best part of this.

Idk what people are on. Just because something is weird doesn’t mean it’s good. This movie didn’t say anything that an average woman hasn’t thought at the age of 12. Grotesque and unnecessary sex scenes that don’t add to the movie

it was fun and defintely interesting. didnt have to be as perverted as it was, but all of the actors were amazing and the visuals were stunning, but the story was too weird and perverted for me

Poor Things
Very weird and very creepy but also very interestingly filmed. Also very graphic but Emma Stone is both a vision and a genius as always.

i have absolutely no idea how to review this movie 😭. i didn’t know a single thing about it other than that it was good. which it was! Emma Stone is phenomenal. a beautiful story of a woman coming of age. a great look at what women can be if they are just allowed to be.

Poor Things
Pros: Beautiful costume/set design, edgy cinematography and dystopian premise
Cons: Weirdly emphasized pedophilia and grooming (I dont care if she looks like Emma Stone, she has the brain of a four year old), 75% of film was sex which didnt advance the story, unfunny comedy
4/10

i love emma stone and margaret qualley but this movie is not what people say it is
"feminist film" is the both the funniest and worst description of what this is and while it is shot beautifully, making a newborn revolve her life around sex is not the feminist theme u think it is
