I know a good coming of age movie hates to see me coming loool and in the back of my head Swimming Pools by Kendrick Lamar was playing during the pool hopping montage

Pools leads on a strong emphasis of searching for any opportunity to make life slow down a little, which in this film is portrayed through being underwater. It’s still, quiet - like you’re in a tranquil state of serenity where nothing matters. A great coming of age film !! :)

didn’t think i’d be read to filth when i first watchlisted this movie like three years ago😭

I get what they were going for with this movie, but it just never got there.

This movie does a good job focusing on how people process trauma differently and it’s okay to not be okay. It focuses on two different people and their story and does a great job keeping you interested. It did feel a little long though.
