Was there a plot?

Chris Pine is good and the cast is fun but the story is disjointed, nonsensical and almost nonexistent. The premise was interesting and there were a few scenes that showed promise but the film was trying too hard to be Chinatown. One of the worst films I’ve seen all year

Your usual weird Chris Pine movie

Really struggled and almost quit before finishing a few times. In the end it was enjoyable.

Weird funny entertaining

This movie was all over the place. It’s not funny at all and it is slow yet chaotic at the same time. The ending was somewhat interesting which is the only thing that saved it from a full dislike.

Fun characters but suffers from being too derivative. Lebowski meets Chinatown. And I’m a sucker for neo noirs. Wanted to be Nice Guys.

Terrible film. Actors are fine but no story nothing. It’s just terrible. It’s not funny or interesting. One of the worst I’ve ever seen.

Started alright. Got bored after an hour.

Was this only for a select 10 or so insane fans? Surely a target audience was in mind because I have no idea who would want to purposefully suffer through this. The posters bring excitement. The title brings comedy and mystery. The cast brings fandoms. Unfortunately, all of these flopped harder than a pool noodle underwater. I gave up after the 30 mark as the empty story was bleached dry. Also because the characters weren't funny, relatable or anything else in between. It felt like a 'yes men' project. I don't dislike or like Pine but acting looks better than directing for now.

I love Chris pine

It deep as it could have went. The cast is great but that is the only good thing. I am disappointed.
