It’s an entertaining creature feature with a genuinely creepy setup: an entire town mysteriously emptied by an ancient entity. The atmosphere is strong & the mystery keeps things moving. Yet, the film's effects, performances & over-the-top moments can undermine the tension.

When you blind buy a movie, you either take the W or the L, and this one kind of lands on both. It's got great tension, suspense, and setting. Everything else just isn't, which is a shame because you have a pretty good cast.

Who ever said Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms, was right

So disappointing. The premise was intriguing but the execution was absolutely terrible.

This is one of those movies that is so silly and campy because of its age and the outdated special effects, but I’m sure watching it in theaters at the time would’ve scared tf out of me.

This is such a good idea. I loved the entity/creature. The way it absorbs the memories and thoughts of the people it consumes is so interesting. And how its own downfall was the information it absorbed. Its food gave it a god complex. Great plot & execution & characters!! 8/10

As good or even better than most Stephen King adaptations in the last 25 years.
More Koontz, please.

Was interesting concept for a movie. Special effects were cool. Like how the third act tied all the information together.

I know I should hate this movie, but I've always liked it. It's surprisingly well paced and acted considering how poor the script and story are. It's a lot of fun.
