Persuasion

Worst Jane Austen adaptation I think I’ve ever seen. Persuasion is my favorite of her novels and that butchered it. The dialogue is cringe, Johnson should never been cast as Anne. It was a pretty movie though…if you watch it on mute you might like it. Henry Golding was perfect.

If you like the book, you probably won’t like this movie. It changes the characters completely and the original themes are almost completely forgotten.

However, if you haven’t read the book this could be a mildly enjoyable comedy.

6/10 I enjoyed this, don’t take it too seriously. If you are anticipating the perfection of 2005’s Pride & Prejudice you will be disappointed. I’d probably watch again.

dakota johnson was the worst choice for this movie but im obsessed with anything jane austen i loved it anyways

it’s a 5-6ish out of 10, made me laugh a bit but not so good really

I watched it because of Dakota, but it was very enjoyable to watch. I liked that Anne's character was also a kind of narrator and spoke to us specifically.
