Interestingly the script was one of the most liked of 2010 from the blacklist. I’d assume the negative review are because the majority was expecting a Bob Ross biopic. Admittedly, it does lack but is entertaining and has funny moments and a clear message about accepting change.

I was torn with this. It had some good parts but then other times it was just a typical lead guy who is a jerk to everyone and treats womanly poorly and that gets old fast. Over all just a meh.

When I first saw images from the movie and didn’t know what it was about, I thought it was a Bob Ross biopic 😅 starring Owen Wilson.
I feel like they were trying to make a parody of Bob Ross, but unfortunately, it didn’t really work. There are some similarities, such as the PBS setting and the fans who grew up watching Carl Nargle, similar to how many kids from the ’90s grew up watching Bob Ross.
The chemistry between Owen Wilson and Michaela felt nonexistent to me; their relationship came across as very forced.
DON’T WATCH IT!

It was cute but I def assumed that this was going to be about a guy that Bob Ross stole his identity from and I was very wrong about that… would’ve been very interesting but it was fine otherwise… whatever

Couldn’t really uncover the purpose of this movie. It felt like an unfunny skit that went on for longer than it should have. Owen Wilson tries to to embrace change as an obvious Bob Ross but it’s actually not at all related to the famous painter.

I didn’t make it past the first 20 minutes—really kinda boring and felt like I was wasting so much time for some reason. Casting wasn’t bad but the plot was weird and boring, felt like a dragged-out, too-long Bob Ross satire/skit but again I only saw the first 20mins…

It was slow, but I think that was one of the intentional styles of the movie.
Yet not only was it slow moving, but the story was uninteresting.
With all of that, it had no meaning/lessons learned. So It left no emotional attachment.
Poor combination for a movie.
