The second one definitely wasn’t as good as the first but still pretty cool. I said earlier that robots and monsters fighting never gets old. Here it got a bit old. But still a really cool film.

Should’ve never been written. A horrid offense to its predecessor and yet another example of male writers killing off incredible female characters to further the plot of their lesser male counterparts. Mako Mori deserved so much better.

It's immediately apparent Guillermo del Toro had nothing to do with this. Basically anything good from the first movie is bad in this. Characters are bland. Plot is stupid. This has none of the charm of the original. I know the first one had its flaws but this is shamefully bad.

What I got from this movie... using child cadets as soldiers is not a bad thing. Also pilots don't ask questions about the other pilot's choice cause they can already see it in the mind. Just say what they are doing. Honestly... a rock could have done better. And Amara... no

I mean it’s good and I don’t really understand the amount of criticism this movie gets. It was a good watch and though not as good as the first one I still enjoyed it.

It's good not great. Not as good as the first film and definitely not as good as the anime series, Pacific Rim: The Black, on Netflix.
For me, I really liked Charlie Day's character in the first film, and I didn't care for the direction they took the character in this one.

I was honestly just craving some flashy robot-on-monster action for the weekend. I like this as a loud popcorn flick, even if it trades the magic of the first one for breezy action.

What Worked:
• I really dug John Boyega’s fun energy; his vibe totally carries the movie.
• The daytime Jaeger battles look sleek and bring a vibrant flavor.
• Loved the homemade Scrapper mech and the underdog spirit Cailee Spaeny brings.

The Friction:
• The rogue robot mystery part really dragged for me when I just wanted to see more Kaijus.
• The squeaky-clean style honestly felt a bit too polished compared to the lived-in vibe of the original.

Verdict:
Watch for a breezy robot ride. Pass if you need the deep atmospheric weight of the original.

no where near the level of great the first one had but not a bad watch

the 3-minute newt and Hubert moments were worth this entire movie okay no they weren't alright. now make me another movie
