Out of the Furnace Reviews

great film, color pallet is gorgeous, christian bale being a bad ass although there wasn’t really much dialogue from his role. definitely wish the ending was better, kinda disappointed lowkey. although it’s still a solid watch just bc of bale ofc. 7 / 10

Solid flick, wishing the ending was a little better

A really well acted, incredibly dark thriller/action movie. Fantastic lead actors and setting.

Gritty and underrated crime thriller. Overall the cast was super stacked and it starred one of the greatest actors ever, Christian Bale.

RELEASE MEEEEEEEEEEE

Only watched it for long hair Christian Bale honestly 😅
Good movie but kinda slow

8/10

The performances and cinematography elevate what at times is an undercooked but gritty thriller from Scott Cooper

was kinda slow but a solid but predictable plot. gets carried by the cast but woody really killed his role the hardest followed by casey and christian. defoe and forrest are goated so they did a solid job aswell

Good movie

Better acting than the script provided.

How have I not watched this before?!?!
This film does not rely on flashiness but rather gritty, stripped down raw performances. The story is not overly complex though I found the rotation of leading characters and detour of the story entertaining and compelling.
The all star cast all give great performances. I love Casey Affleck and Willem Dafoe in the first half of the film and then Christian Bale absolutely steals the second half.
The action is gritty, abrupt and entertaining. The score is also magnificent, carrying tension throughout the film. I also have to mention the beautiful landscape shots that show you a fascinating juxtaposition between the beautiful location and the horrible actions that are taking place within. Definitely give it a watch if you like character acting and gritty, violent stories! 8/10 Recommend

Great life movie

really dumb

A film that got by so fast exactly like our choices in life!

Fantastic performances, some of the story was a bit all over the place but overall well done

good actors and good storyline, maybe a bit too long

I'm having a tough time reviewing the film -

A) They start & end with a Pearl Jam song which automatically makes it good, right?!

B) The cast is loaded; Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Forest Whitaker, Sam Shepard, Willem Dafoe, Woosy Harrelson.

C) The story wasn't bad.

D) Somehow it just didn't land. It should have been so, so good & it just wasn't. It was 🤷‍♀️
