Orca

Wow. Wasn’t expecting this to be a banger of a movie but really enjoyed this. Has its corny 70s effects but overall 8/10

Orca (The Killer Whale) gets unfairly tagged as a Jaws wannabe, but it’s more than that. Orca is a tale of vengeance and regret. Richard Harris’ Nolan starts out unlikable, but ends in a way where you find yourself having compassion for him. A compassion that if Nolan had at the beginning, then maybe he would not be in this predicament.

PS: it is not lost on me how Jaws ends up going off the rails with its “revenge” direction, essentially stealing the idea from Orca, but not executing it anywhere near as well as Orca. Who’s the wannabe now? 😜

The usual “nature revenge horror” but with an orca
