This movie is peak childhood comedy.

Open Season begs the question: Does this trash deserve a good review? For children’s movies, our standards for what makes a film “good” are often irrelevant. My judgment of quality is incongruous with this movie and cannot assess it with the accuracy a child’s unclouded awe.

hadn’t watched this since i was 6, but it was one of my favorite movies then and 12 years laters it’s still quite enjoyable. i’m a sucker for any anti-hunting messages and ashton kutcher so i was bound to like it. also the porcupine was adorable and boog and elliot’s friendship🥺
