great wholesome fun movie to watch with the fam

Almost kicked my best friend out of the house for making me watch this.

Foul. Absolutely foul, if you enjoy this movie and the rape scenes then honestly I don’t know what that says about your character. All I can say is there wasn’t a single second I enjoyed this movie. A man and his love interest WHO IS HIS DAUGHTER BTW. Disgusting -9000/10

I watched this back in like middle school or something and barely remembered anything, which worked out I guess bc I couldn’t remember the plot twist 😭😭 But one of THE BEST film scores imo the waltz is too good 😤

Didn’t do it for me. The so called “plot twist” everyone talks about could be seen from miles away. Oh he met a girl that’s approximately his daughter’s age? And for the rest of the movie the daughter is never seen again? Take a guess why. Also stupid plot and story overall.

what. the. fuck. what kind of sicko makes up an ending like that? but thats what makes it so great the fact my jaw dropped so hard. i can see why this is so praised and im glad i didnt get spoiled. 100/10

Oldboy is good but heavily overrated. No a lot of people will think this is a blasphemous statement but i think this film is not that good up until the 3rd act. It has arguably one the best 3rd acts oat and the best twist in cinema. But it hard carries ngl 8.6/10

“Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Weep, and you weep alone.”

“Be it a grain of sand or a rock, in water they sink as the same.”

“Even though I'm no better than a beast, don't I have a right to live?” Huh. But morally right..?

Edit: Unfortunately I spoiled the ending for myself by reading reviews. Not much has changed for me though. Sorry @hrs but even though the incest is a tragedy it was more of just cringy for me. I did like the iconic fight scenes though, that did change for me.

Lee Woo Jin is the biggest hater of all time

I enjoyed it thoroughly up until the big plot twist and ending. Most likely innovative and unique for its time, but didn’t age well in my opinion.

Tried it again. It’s still so fucking ass.
Great fight scene (yes singular), everything else is absolute dog shit. How do people enjoy this? Just go read Monte Cristo (it’s actually good)

K-films are 10/10 (A brand new life, Man from nowhere, bittersweet life) or -100000/1

what.did.i.just.watch.i feel like you either love this movie or you totally hate it. this movie is definitely not for everyone since its very dark and twisted but if u find the strength to dive deeper into the plot you surely can understand its meaning.

Visceral storytelling, told with rich visuals, impassioned style, and poetic purpose.

corridor fight scene >> incest

Actually scarring. It is well-made, sure, but at some point you have to ask yourself “what is the point of all of this apart from maybe shock-value”. The plot twist is horrible (in the “best” way possible), and has you thinking about it for several days. Would recommend it though

This movie was fuckinf insanely dark and twisted, once against Non American Movie for the fucking win

Holyy shit what a tragic twist. Didn’t see that coming at all. Overall I really did enjoy this movie. The acting performance e by Choi Min-Sik was phenomenal. Probably the most memorable and outstanding part of this movie.

It could be a like instead of a meh, but I saw the plot coming and didn’t like the relationship between them since she was younger even if she wasn’t the daughter. Anyways it’s a good plot if u don’t guess it as well it’s a good revenge even though is disgusting. If a friend recommends this to u, that’s not ur friend that’s ur enemy cuz wtf.

One of the most disappointing endings with a sick disgusting twist i’ve ever seen. The ending made me hate it so much even though i enjoyed it a lot in the beginning
