Oldboy
Foul. Absolutely foul, if you enjoy this movie and the rape scenes then honestly I don’t know what that says about your character. All I can say is there wasn’t a single second I enjoyed this movie. A man and his love interest WHO IS HIS DAUGHTER BTW. Disgusting -9000/10

Oldboy
"Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone."
It feels like such a cliche to say this, but holy fucking shit, Oldboy blew me away, I can’t even put it into words the feeling I’ve got right now, the best thing I can come up with, is probably a sense of awe and amazement.
1st Act 9.6/10 (From the actual first frame it sucks you in, then to add to it, it invokes the perfect balance of mystery and analysis for the audience, I don’t think a more perfect combo has ever been used.) 00:00 - 40:00
2nd Act 9.7/10 (Kick ass, stuff unravels, and ravels back up again, shit gets nuts, not to mention the one cut hallway fighting scene, WHICH WAS THE INSPIRATION FOR SIFU AND DAREDEVIL.) 40:00 - 1:25:00
3rd Act 10/10 (How did we get a better “What’s in the box” reveal than se7en, everything in this act comes together perfectly, making it the one of the greatest climax acts of a movie I’ve ever seen, I’d go as far to say it is on a par with 12 Angry Men.)
Plot 9.8/10 (Works phenomenally in pretty much all aspects, I’d say the reason why it’s not a 10 is because like 2 minutes worth of footage could be cut, but it’s amazing as is. (yes I’m that nit-picky) )
Soundtrack/Score 11/10 (has some of the greatest tracks ever used in cinema, just go listen to The Last Waltz and Cries And Whispers, and you’ll know exactly what I mean)
Acting 11/10 (This is triple Oscar worth level acting, EACH, I’d say Kang Hye-Jung, Choi Min-Sik and Yoo Ji-Tae, deserve all the awards winnable.)
Pacing 9.7/10 (Near perfect, just has a lil 10 minutes worth of slow pacing, but then again, it’s always best to take your time and be memorable, than rush through and not remember a single scene.)
Cinematography 9.3/10 (Really Well shot, and has some absolutely amazing scenes, but the film does not rely on cinematography unless it needs to, it kinda acts as a “let’s do the scene and if it looks bland we’ll get the cinematographer on it.”)
Character Development 9.6/10 (Not gonna say anything but I wish we didn’t know what was in the box)
Writing 11/10 (The third act speaks, no, actually, it screams Shakespeare level writing.)
Ending 10/10 (Perfection in ending form.)
Direction 9.7/10 (Bit funky at the beginning a bit for like one scene, but other than that absolutely incredible.)
