If I had one wish, I’d use it to stop seeing Charlie Kirk’s face every time I look at Bear
A great new idea for a horror, loved it. Good tension, jumps, and gore. The plot was also fun and well paced. Both Bear and Nikki did an amazing job as their roles and had so many awesome scenes. Some of the scenes were so uncomfortable and nervous in such an amazing way. The Nikki movements were so great 9.0/10

everyone who’s saying that bear is the victim in this film missed the entire point. niki was the victim, she was raped, sexually assaulted, and taken advantage of without being able to do anything about it cause she was possessed. bear knew this. he knew that the woman he was with wasn’t niki, but he continued to take advantage of her anyway, never taking accountability even until the very end. it was so nice seeing and hearing the audience’s reaction to it the second time around. i also noticed the sound work a lot more, it really contributed to the quality and suspense of the film. definitely the best horror movie of the year so far

I feel gaslit, I refuse to believe I saw the same film as everyone else that’s getting this much praise.
Easily one of the most predicable movies I’ve ever seen, insanely so, each major moment plays out in the most obvious way you’d think - all the way up to the ending which I subconsciously considered as an option near the beginning - and it literally happened..!! Obsession is obsessed with constantly bashing out the most nonsense, gory and/or disturbing things for the sake of “shock factor”, and for that alone, never making any sense for it to happen as so.
That aside, acting is very, very good here - particularly Inde Navarrette who was simply superb. The way she was able to switch up and convey so many visual layers in one frame is nuts and a triumph. Michael Johnston was very solid too - I seriously see much stardom for the both of them following this. Along with the performances, I appreciated this film showcasing a negative side to a “wish” - it’s always shown as a gift in media, so was refreshing to see a switch up.
Whilst not technically the worst film I’ve seen this year, it’s certainly the most boring and I genuinely don’t understand what everyone else is seeing…

It’s hard to understand where to begin when the only thing I aim to accomplish here is gushing at how amazing this film was. This is an olympic long jump into the uncanny valley, it’s excruciatingly haunting in how it portrays people, it feels dirty, almost evil to take part in the movie because of the extremes it goes to and the terrifying background hidden throughout the runtime. Performances are professionally layered, there’s so much that unpacks itself in the best ways possible, the main is in every shape of perfection the best driving force this film could have asked for, but Inde is a superstar, she is truly mesmerizing and terrifying at the same time. When this gets going it digs into your skin and just burns you from the inside out, rarely do I feel more uncomfortable yet invested, there are parts of this film that are so eerily unsettling, so deep into uncanny territory that it froze me, but somehow the film is able to create moments of terror completely separate from the present horror. This is a film that will be talked about for a long time, one that is already being compared to horror greats of past and present, and one that will stay with me for a long, long time. 5/5

I will never be watching this movie ever again. This is single handedly the scariest movie i have ever seen.
Every single effect was used perfectly. I don’t have this kind of reaction to horror films, i almost had to leave the theater because i was going to throw up.
Watching this in the Dolby theater made it that much scarier. The film was so loud. The music was so scary. The sound effects were so fucking scary holy shit. Everything about this movie was just so fucking scary.

Bear literally had the chance to tell Nikki how he felt but instead he chickened out & wished for it instead?! I called tea from the start.. Ian is a piece of 💩!! Justice for my girl Sarah. And since nobody gave me a TW⚠️.. they say KYS quite a lot😵💫 Anyways this movie was a TRIP!!

Slight spoiler, but the second I saw the One Wish Willow, I knew I had to prepare myself for whatever was coming. As predictable as monkey paw plots are, the only real predictability was in the deteriorating spiral. You expect the situation to worsen but are uncertain about exactly how. Great acting, especially from Navarrette. Brilliant sound design, scoring, cinematography, directing, and dialogue. It's cute, creepy, uncomfortable, unfortunate, depressing, disgusting, and still somehow kind of funny. It's a love story for sure... just not a romantic one.

I think the praise this movie gets is from people who see horror films to be shaken rather than witness a good story. Parts of this movie are likable, and all of it is creative despite some cliché. But nothing makes this movie life-changing except maybe the paranoia I now have. 😭

“oh, be careful what you wish for!” in the big 26? girl, come on. so boring and uncreative. the protagonist is a fucking coward and an imbecile throughout the entirety of the film. also, the female lead is just screaming at 150% volume every other scene. byee.

I wish there was something in between a like and a love for this one. One of the best-made horror movies I’ve seen in a while, and for such a small budget Curry Barker cooked with this one.
Gonna have to let this one sit for a day or two, but definitely a super creative idea for a horror movie, with an interesting mix of humor too. It’s a lot to take in, but I’ll be sat for Barker’s next movie for sure.
Also, loved how relatable (but also hilariously frustrating) Bear was as a character 😂

Saw Backrooms last night, loved it.
Just got out of Obsession, loved it.
Inde, my goodness. I wasn’t aware of your range. Loved you in Superman & Lois, and you just blew me away with this performance.
The movie is so good at being random, terrifying, cute, funny, and downright wild all within 5 minute sequences.
Such a great horror piece. The music, the “scares”, the gore, the concept, the everything.
Highly recommend, another Blumhouse gem 💎

Yeah, I don't understand what the hype is with this film. Definitely not a horror, more like a comedy, we laughed the whole way through. Acting not terrible, but the story and execution was poor. Not one I can recommend.

literally one of the scariest movies i’ve watched. the car jumpscare was so scary, i promise you i fully jumped in my seat. the way nikki goes between real and fake, it’s done so well. i really enjoyed it, and i think it’s one of the best horror movies of the last decade. the acting is done so well from everyone, and nikki is so creepy ( or should i say she’s freaky nikki).
i wish it was longer. an anthology series of the one wish willow would be sick. Curry Barker did a fantastic job on his theatrical debut. i recommend watching Milk&Serial on youtube, it’s by Barker too and is so creepy.
