Some of the songs are catchy but this movie is all over the place. It’s rushed, and the story is kind of a mess. Just a rough watch overall that feels pretty slow.

This movie was finally a something fresh somthing ive never seen before somthings special. And kind a post apocalyptic world but not as an action movie. This is a must watch. And safie killed it in that role ginally a role were she could show her incredible talent.

The songs were great and the colors were awesome. I like the world and the sets, but the film isn't amazing, which is a shame. It's missing something, I can't quite put my finger on it.

Mid songs, bad story telling, and lazy character writing. The first ten minutes is interesting tho

I don’t know how I feel about it. So many great actors that gave good performances and very unique and beautifully shot. It was an odd plot, more screen time but also less. There was not enough movie to really get to know anything but it also drug on. The music was okay

O'Dessa (2025) - A Visually Stunning but Narratively Flawed Musical Drama
Rated: 5.1/10

Geremy Jasper's 2025 American post-apocalyptic musical drama film "O'Dessa" is a visually stunning retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Starring Sadie Sink, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Murray Bartlett, and Regina Hall, the film boasts impressive musical numbers and a unique blend of genres. However, its narrative flaws and uneven pacing hold it back from reaching its full potential.

Performances
Sadie Sink shines as the protagonist, bringing a youthful energy and vulnerability to the role. Kelvin Harrison Jr. is equally impressive, delivering a captivating performance as her love interest. The supporting cast, including Murray Bartlett and Regina Hall, add depth and nuance to the story.

Music and Cinematography
The film's musical numbers are undoubtedly its strongest aspect, with Jasper's direction bringing a unique blend of music and visuals. The cinematography is equally impressive, capturing the post-apocalyptic landscape in stunning detail.

Narrative Flaws
Despite its visual and musical strengths, "O'Dessa" is held back by its narrative flaws. The pacing is uneven, with long stretches of exposition that slow down the momentum. The characters' motivations and actions often feel unclear, making it difficult to become fully invested in their journey.

Conclusion
While "O'Dessa" is a visually stunning and musically impressive film, its narrative flaws and uneven pacing hold it back from reaching its full potential. Fans of musical dramas and post-apocalyptic fiction may still find something to appreciate, but others may find themselves struggling to stay engaged.

👍 This rock-opera had a lot of potentials, visual effects and catchy songs. It sadly feels rushed or depicted on the wrong media

Der Film war echt gut. Die Story ist okay, aber die Lieder sind echt gut muss ich sagen. Es wird vielleicht nicht jedem gefallen, aber ganz so schlecht war’s nicht.

In this vibrant cyberpunk world there are a few memorable music performances. I almost want to rate this higher because the songs were good. The problem is the messaging really misses the mark, & the whole cinematic experience feels tacky. Very little compliments to give.

15 min in and it’s just not for me. My 1st complaint is she hugged her pet llama goodbye and then left it to starve to death?

Besides that shitty act as a human and a completely unnecessary scene, I had no interest in her or what was to come 🤷🏻‍♀️

The role reversal of it all 🤌😘💕💕💕

Boas músicas, ótimos atores, fotografia bacana, figurinos e etc... mas no geral achei a história meio meh e vaga, também achei a o'dessa meio besta...filme legal pra assistir uma vez (te amo Sadie)

well everything about the visuals and acting...great? but the story is a meh
